College Station, Texas, has begun the search for both a temporary and permanent location for its new federal courthouse. Chief U.S. District Judge Randy Crane, who leads the Southern District of Texas, confirmed that his office is actively meeting to select a temporary site while planning for a permanent structure. The process is expected to be lengthy due to the specific security requirements of a federal courthouse, which necessitate features like cinder block walls for prisoner transport, unlike typical commercial office spaces.
