Man Dies After Multiple Gunshot Wounds at Jackson Park
A 20-year-old man, Amauri Ainsworth, died after being shot multiple times at a Jackson park on Sunday. The Jackson Police Department reported that officers responded to South Drive around 11:56 a.m. and found Ainsworth suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where medical staff attempted to save his life, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital. According to witnesses, approximately 200 people were present at the park when the shooting occurred. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact JPD or Crime Stoppers.
