Spiritual Condition of 'Foreigners and Strangers' Reconciled Through Christ, According to Ephesians 2:19 Interpretation
The spiritual condition of individuals before Christ is described as being 'foreigners and strangers,' separated from God due to sin. This separation meant not belonging to God's kingdom or family, and lacking the right to approach a holy God. However, through Jesus Christ's perfect life and sacrificial death, this barrier has been removed. Jesus' actions are said to have taken away guilt and reconciled humanity to the Father. As a result, individuals are no longer considered 'foreigners and strangers' but are now 'fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,' as stated in Ephesians 2:19. This signifies a transformation from being an outsider to being welcomed into God's family, enjoying protection, provision, and love.
