Consumer Product Safety Commission Recalls Over 200,000 INIU Power Banks Due to Fire Risks
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of approximately 210,000 INIU 100,000mAh portable power banks sold on Amazon. These power banks, identified by model number BI-B41, were available for purchase between August 2021 and April 2022. The recall is due to potential fire and burn hazards, as the power banks can overheat and ignite. There have been at least 15 reported incidents of overheating, including 11 fires that resulted in minor injuries and property damage. The affected units have specific serial numbers: 000G21, 000H21, 000I21, and 000L21. Consumers are advised to stop using these power banks immediately and visit INIU's website to verify their product's serial number and register for a full refund.
