Skyline Fire in Yucca Valley Destroys Four Structures, Injures Firefighter
A brush fire known as the Skyline fire erupted in Yucca Valley, California, on Sunday, causing significant damage. The fire began around 2 p.m. in the 52000 block of Skyline Road and quickly threatened to expand to 500 acres. Fire officials deployed two water-dropping helicopters and six air tankers to combat the blaze. Despite these efforts, the fire destroyed four structures and displaced several residents. The Cal Fire San Bernardino Unit reported that damage inspection teams and the Red Cross were requested to assist those affected. By early evening, the fire's forward progress was halted at 39 acres, and containment efforts were underway.
