Todd Blanche Faces New York Bar Complaint Over Vindictive Prosecution Allegations
Todd Blanche, a prominent legal figure, is facing a complaint filed with the New York Bar by the Campaign for Accountability. The complaint arises from allegations of vindictive prosecution in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Chief U.S. District Judge Waverly D. Crenshaw, Jr. dismissed the indictment against Abrego Garcia, citing it as a product of presumptively vindictive prosecution. The complaint accuses Blanche of reopening a closed investigation to justify the deportation of Abrego Garcia to El Salvador, which was later deemed an administrative error. The Department of Justice (DOJ) faced multiple legal defeats in this case, including at the Supreme Court, and was accused of misrepresenting court statements. The complaint highlights Blanche's role in allegedly manipulating legal processes to support the Executive Branch's decisions.
