Frontier Airlines Flight Strikes Pedestrian at Denver Airport, Causing Fatality and Engine Fire
A Frontier Airlines flight, bound for Los Angeles, struck and killed a pedestrian during takeoff at Denver International Airport on Friday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 11:19 p.m. when the pedestrian reportedly jumped a perimeter fence and was hit while crossing the runway. Following the collision, a brief engine fire was reported, prompting firefighters to respond swiftly. The pilots aborted the takeoff, and passengers were evacuated via slides as a precaution. Twelve individuals sustained minor injuries, with five requiring hospital treatment. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been notified, and an investigation is underway. Runway 17L, where the incident occurred, remains closed but is expected to reopen soon.
