Ambassador Danbazau Advocates for Enhanced Nigeria-China Lithium Battery Manufacturing Partnership
Nigeria's Ambassador to China, Abdulrahman Danbazau, has called for a strengthened partnership between Nigeria and China in the field of lithium battery manufacturing. During an interview at the African Mainstream Media Workshop in Beijing, Danbazau emphasized the need for Chinese investors to transition from merely processing minerals to establishing production facilities in Nigeria. He highlighted Nigeria's rich deposits of critical minerals, including lithium, as a significant opportunity for the country to evolve from a raw material exporter to a manufacturing hub. The ambassador noted that the Nigerian government is committed to ensuring that the country gains more value from its natural resources through local processing and manufacturing. He encouraged Chinese companies to expand their operations in Nigeria to include the production of finished products, which would create jobs, promote technology transfer, and support Nigeria's industrialization efforts.
