Chris Deluzio Unveils Build America Plan to Boost U.S. Manufacturing
Pennsylvania Representative Chris Deluzio has announced a new initiative called the 'Build America Plan' aimed at revitalizing the U.S. manufacturing sector. The plan is structured around three key legislative proposals designed to enhance domestic industry, promote workforce training, and impose fees on foreign polluters. Deluzio's strategy is to reindustrialize America by investing directly in American manufacturing companies, encouraging career and technical education, and supporting cleaner American-made goods. The plan has garnered support from major labor groups such as the UAW, Teamsters, USW, SMART, and AFL-CIO. Deluzio criticizes current trade policies, arguing they have not effectively bolstered manufacturing jobs, and positions his plan as a means to create 'good union jobs' and improve trade policy.
