Aspen Armory Hall Redevelopment Begins, Aiming to Transform Historic Site
The redevelopment of Aspen's historic Armory Hall has commenced, with the project set to transform the site into a food hall and event venue. Located at 130 S. Galena St, the construction is a collaboration between the city of Aspen and Shaw Construction, scheduled for completion in fall 2028. The Armory Hall, which opened in 1892, has served various community roles over the years, including as a military site, fraternal hall, and city office space. It was designated a historic landmark in 1974 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The city is actively seeking a hospitality operator to manage the venue post-redevelopment, with proposals due by September 2.
