Vancouver-Based Mining Company Confirms Deaths of 9 Workers Kidnapped in Mexico
Vizsla Silver, a Vancouver-based mining company, has confirmed that nine out of ten workers abducted in January from a site in Concordia, Sinaloa, Mexico, have been found dead. The workers were kidnapped from a gated residential compound, and their bodies were discovered in February. Mexican authorities have linked the kidnappings to Los Chapitos, a faction of the Sinaloa cartel. The company is cooperating with Mexican authorities in the ongoing investigation. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum mentioned that the investigation would also look into the labor conditions of the miners to determine any potential responsibility of the company. Vizsla Silver has expressed condolences to the families of the victims and continues to support the investigation.
