Proposed Vesper Amphitheater in Provo Canyon Faces Public Concerns Over Environmental Impact
A new large-scale amphitheater, named the Vesper Amphitheater, has been proposed for development in Provo Canyon. The project, which would occupy approximately 100 acres, aims to provide indoor seating for 3,000 to 8,000 people and outdoor summer seating for up to 20,000. Since its announcement on May 19, the proposal has sparked significant public concern. Local residents and visitors to the canyon have raised issues regarding the potential impact on wildlife, increased fire hazards, traffic congestion, and noise pollution. Willie Holdman, a local photographer and outdoor enthusiast, expressed concerns about the noise affecting recreational activities such as fly fishing and mountain biking in the area.
