Johns Island Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Collision, Suspect Arrested
Jose Luis Guzman Martinez, 31, of Johns Island, South Carolina, has been identified by the Charleston County Coroner's Office as the victim who died in a fatal vehicle collision on Sunday. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Main Road at Bee Blossom Way. Martinez was a passenger in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS due to injuries sustained in the crash. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office has arrested Alvaro Bautista Hernandez, 36, also of Johns Island, in connection with the collision. Hernandez, who was the driver, allegedly fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after. Three other passengers in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital for their injuries. The vehicle was the only one involved in the collision, which led to the closure of parts of Bee Blossom Way and Chisolm Road. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation into the incident.
