B.C. Wildfire Prompts Urgent Animal Rescue Efforts
As the Bald Range wildfire raged near Summerland, British Columbia, groups mobilized to rescue livestock and animals from the evacuation zone. The wildfire, which prompted evacuation orders, threatened numerous farms with livestock. Volunteers, including Kaz Nowlin and others, worked tirelessly to save animals, including horses, goats, sheep, dogs, and cats. Social media played a crucial role in coordinating rescue efforts, with posts calling for help in locating and rescuing animals. The B.C. Livestock Producers Co-op also provided support by opening stockyards to house displaced cattle and assisting with transportation logistics.
