NordVPN Survey Reveals Misplaced Concerns Among Americans About Cybercrime
A survey conducted by NordVPN has revealed that while a significant number of Americans are concerned about cybersecurity scams, many are focusing on the wrong aspects of cybercrime. The survey, which included 1,200 participants, found that 91% of respondents are worried about cybersecurity threats, with 56% more concerned about identity theft and fraud than scam calls. However, scam calls are a more frequent occurrence, with 46% of people experiencing them daily. NordVPN's Chief Technology Officer, Marijus Briedis, emphasized that the real threat lies in the initial manipulation phase, where individuals are pressured into making quick decisions, leading to identity theft.
