Allegheny County Ordered to Begin Full Property Reassessment by July 2027
Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, has been mandated by a judge to initiate a comprehensive property reassessment by July 2027. This order, issued by Court of Common Pleas Judge Kenneth Valasek, follows over a decade of legal disputes and public discussion regarding the county's property assessment methodology. The last full countywide reassessment in Allegheny County occurred in 2012, and since then, property values have continued to be based on those outdated figures. The ruling stems from a lawsuit filed by property owner Flavia Laun against Allegheny County, which brought the issue back into prominence.
