Toxicology Reports Released in Utah Mother-Daughter Murder-Suicide at Las Vegas Hotel
New autopsy reports have revealed details surrounding the murder-suicide of Tawnia McGeehan, 34, and her 11-year-old daughter, Addilyn Smith, at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The incident occurred in February while they were in Las Vegas for Smith’s cheer competition. Police discovered the bodies after Smith's father requested a welfare check. Upon entering the hotel room, officers found several handwritten suicide notes left by McGeehan, including one taped to a chair warning first responders of two deceased bodies, one being an 11-year-old. Toxicology results indicate that both mother and daughter had ingested a variety of prescription medications, including antipsychotics, anticonvulsants, anxiety drugs, and antihistamines, prior to their deaths.
