Hawai‘i Public Radio Joins National Public Media Giving Days to Boost Listener Support
Hawai‘i Public Radio (HPR) is participating in the national Public Media Giving Days on May 1 and 2, joining over 100 other stations in a campaign organized by NPR, PBS, Greater Public, and the CDP. This initiative aims to highlight the importance of public broadcasting and encourage listener contributions, which are the primary funding source for HPR. The campaign invites listeners to share their experiences and the impact of public media in their lives, emphasizing the role of listener support in sustaining fact-based journalism and diverse programming. HPR is committed to informing and connecting the people of Hawai‘i through its news coverage, storytelling, and music programming.
