Cogdell, a Houston-based criminal defense attorney, has represented Paxton through his impeachment trial and securities fraud case. He expressed that Paxton has lost sight of his mission to represent Texans. Cogdell's endorsement of Talarico is notable, as he previously donated $6,500 to Paxton's campaign before contributing $1,000 to Talarico. This development comes amid personal challenges for Paxton, including a divorce from his wife, who has not endorsed his Senate bid.
