Oklahoma Senator Alan Armstrong Discloses Significant Stock Trades Amid Senate Appointment

Alan Armstrong, recently appointed to the U.S. Senate seat for Oklahoma, has disclosed substantial financial activities, including receiving over $68 million from The Williams Companies in 2025. This amount includes incentive compensation and unvested stock. Armstrong, who was the chairman of the Tulsa-based petroleum giant before his appointment, reported a partial sale of his stock in the company, valued between $5 million and $25 million. Additionally, he placed a call option worth up to $500,000 on Williams stock, betting it would rise above $75 by August 21, despite it trading at around $70 per share as of July 28. Armstrong's appointment fills the term of Markwayne Mullin, who was appointed by President Trump as the Secretary of Homeland Security. Due to Oklahoma law, Armstrong cannot stand for election and will serve until January 2027.
