Illinois Representatives LaHood and Sorensen Lead in Campaign Fundraising for Reelection
In the upcoming reelection campaigns for two Central Illinois U.S. House districts, incumbents U.S. Rep. Eric Sorensen and U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood hold significant financial advantages over their challengers. According to Federal Election Commission reports, Sorensen's campaign has $1.33 million in the bank, vastly outpacing his Republican opponent, Dillan Vancil, who has $56,700. Sorensen, a former television meteorologist, has raised $2.23 million since January 2025 and spent $1 million. His campaign has received substantial PAC contributions, including $10,000 each from Ameren and Northrop Grumman. Meanwhile, LaHood, representing a strongly Republican district, has $6.75 million in campaign funds after spending $2.4 million. His campaign has raised $3.67 million, with contributions from entities like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and Google.
