Windows 11 Insider Preview Introduces Modernized AutoPlay Experience
Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Experimental Preview Build 26340.9233, which includes a modernized AutoPlay experience. This update revamps the dialog box that appears when devices like phones, cameras, or removable drives are connected to a PC. Rebuilt with WinUI, the refreshed AutoPlay interface is designed to be more consistent with the overall Windows 11 aesthetic, offering support for dark mode and improved responsiveness to text scaling and display settings. The familiar AutoPlay actions remain available, but notifications for this dialog are now integrated into the notification center for easier access. This build also includes accessibility improvements, such as a simpler way to open apps maximized.
