Clay County Sheriff's Office Warrant Sweep Leads to 15 Arrests and Recovery of Missing Teenagers
On October 8, the Clay County Sheriff's Office led a warrant sweep operation that resulted in the arrest of 15 individuals and the recovery of two teenagers who had been reported missing from Stone County, Missouri. The operation involved over 50 law enforcement officers from eight additional agencies, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Platte County Sheriff’s Office, and police departments from Gladstone, Kansas City, Kearney, Liberty, North Kansas City, and Pleasant Valley. During the sweep, law enforcement officers discovered illegal drugs and paraphernalia in plain view at an apartment in Gladstone while attempting to make an arrest. This discovery led to a search warrant, which uncovered methamphetamine and additional drug paraphernalia, potentially leading to further criminal charges. The recovered teenagers were found safe and were turned over to juvenile authorities.
