NWS Milwaukee Announces 2026 Storm Spotter Training Schedule
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee has released its 2026 schedule for storm spotter training sessions. These sessions, each lasting approximately two hours, aim to educate participants on severe weather safety and reporting essentials. The training is open to the general public and spotters, with both in-person and online options available. A special session in Jefferson County on April 9, 2026, requires pre-registration, while other sessions do not. Additionally, a six-part recorded series is available for those unable to attend live sessions. The training coincides with Wisconsin Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week, scheduled for April 13-17, 2026, which includes a statewide tornado drill on April 16 at 1:45 PM and 6:45 PM.
