AACOM ClinEd Accelerator Addresses Physician Shortage Through Innovative Education
The American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) is launching the ClinEd Accelerator, a six-week virtual event aimed at addressing the growing physician shortage in the U.S., projected to reach 141,160 by 2038. The initiative focuses on expanding osteopathic medical education to meet healthcare demands, particularly in underserved communities. The ClinEd Accelerator seeks to innovate clinical education by connecting educators, students, administrators, and healthcare leaders. It aims to overcome challenges such as limited clinical rotation sites and qualified preceptors, which have created bottlenecks in medical education.
