Newport Beach Multi-Vehicle Collision Results in Fatality and Injuries
A tragic multi-vehicle collision occurred in Newport Beach, California, resulting in the death of a 68-year-old local man. The incident took place at approximately 4 p.m. at the intersection of San Miguel Drive and MacArthur Boulevard. According to the Newport Beach Police Department, the driver of a black Toyota Corolla, identified as Dean Scott Foes, was traveling westbound on San Miguel Drive when his vehicle collided with several cars stopped at a red light. The collision caused significant damage to the Corolla, and Foes was transported to a hospital by Newport Beach Fire Department personnel, where he later died. Another driver involved in the crash was hospitalized for pain, while other drivers were evaluated and released at the scene. The collision also pushed an Audi Q5 into the intersection, where it collided with a Nissan. The area was closed for several hours as police conducted an investigation into the cause of the accident.
