Connecticut Father Dies Heroically Saving Son from Rip Current in Florida
Jason Michael DeGray, a 42-year-old father from Windsor Locks, Connecticut, tragically drowned while saving his 12-year-old son, Bryce, from a rip current during a family vacation in Cocoa Beach, Florida. The incident also claimed the life of Ebony Mount, a 34-year-old stranger from Ohio, who attempted to assist in the rescue. DeGray's wife, Meagan, described the event as 'super-traumatic' and praised her husband as a hero and devoted father. Despite his aversion to the beach, DeGray entered the water to save his struggling son. Both DeGray and Mount were pronounced dead at Cape Canaveral Hospital, while Bryce did not require medical attention.
