Pakistan Teams Conduct Ground Search for Climbers' Remains Amid Poor Weather
In Pakistan, search teams are conducting ground operations to locate the remains of 10 climbers who perished in an avalanche on Broad Peak, the world's 12th-highest mountain. The search efforts have been hampered by adverse weather conditions, preventing helicopters from assisting in the recovery. The climbers, hailing from Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, China, Britain, and the United States, were caught in the avalanche last Thursday. So far, the remains of eight climbers have been found, with three bodies already retrieved. Among the deceased is Nirmal Purja, a renowned mountaineer from Nepal. Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, expressed condolences to the families of the victims and praised the ongoing rescue efforts.
