UNC Health Pardee Opens Adolescent Behavioral Health Center in Hendersonville
UNC Health Pardee has inaugurated a new inpatient Adolescent Behavioral Health Center in Hendersonville, North Carolina, aimed at providing specialized mental health care for teenagers. The facility, which includes 23 beds, is designed to serve adolescents aged 13 to 17 experiencing mental health crises such as intense mood changes or thoughts of self-harm. The center offers therapy, medical treatment, recreational activities, and educational support, all within a trauma-informed, evidence-based care framework. The opening ceremony was marked by a ribbon-cutting event, and the center is set to begin accepting patients on August 24. John Bryant, vice president of support services at UNC Health Pardee, emphasized the significant need for such services in the region, noting that young people often face long waits for inpatient care.
