Congressman Cohen and Colleagues Request GAO Review of BLM Wild Horse and Burro Program Amidst Slaughter Reports
Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), alongside Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01) and 16 other congressional colleagues, has sent a bipartisan, bicameral letter to the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The letter requests a comprehensive review of the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Wild Horse and Burro Program. This request follows recent reports alleging that wild horses managed by the BLM have been sold and subsequently slaughtered. The Congressional Wild Horse Caucus Co-Chairs, including Congressman Cohen, Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), and Mark Pocan (WI-02), as well as Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey, support this initiative.
