Convicted Felon Anthony Thomas Arrested in Tangipahoa Parish on Weapons and Drug Charges
Anthony Thomas, a 28-year-old convicted felon, has been arrested in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, following the discovery of multiple firearms and illegal drugs at a residence in the Hammond area. The arrest was a result of a collaborative effort between the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Hammond Police. Authorities initially conducted a parole check on Thomas, who had previously served time for aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of weapons. This check led to his arrest for parole violation, which subsequently prompted a broader investigation. During a search of a home off Airport Road, officers located three pistols, three AR-style pistols, ammunition, gun accessories, marijuana, and illegally obtained prescription pills. Another 22-year-old man present at the residence was also arrested on drug-related charges.
