North Georgia Flood Devastates Family Home, Leaving Generations of Memories Lost
In McCaysville, Georgia, the Murray family has been left devastated after floodwaters destroyed their home, which had been in the family for generations. The flooding, which occurred over the weekend, left the house uninhabitable, with water marks reaching nearly halfway up the structure. The family, consisting of six members, was forced to evacuate when the water reached chest-high levels, necessitating a rescue by boat. They lost nearly all their belongings, including two vehicles. Despite the loss, the family is grateful for their safety and the support from neighbors who have opened their homes to them.
