Severe Weather in Texas and Georgia Causes Fatalities and Destruction
A powerful tornado struck northern Texas on Saturday night, resulting in at least two fatalities and significant damage across multiple neighborhoods in Wise County. The storm, which hit around 10 PM, also led to six people being treated for storm-related injuries. The National Weather Service has warned that severe weather, including the possibility of flash flooding, is likely to continue in the coming days. In addition to the tornadoes, wildfires are raging in parts of Georgia, with two major fires burning over 40,000 acres and destroying 120 homes. The Highway 82 fire, which started on April 20 due to a foil balloon hitting power lines, has become the most destructive wildfire in Georgia's history in terms of home loss.
