San Antonio Public Library Expands Free Wi-Fi Hotspot and Educational Resources Program
The San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) is enhancing its community services by offering free Wi-Fi hotspots, 24/7 tutoring, and online test preparation resources to library card holders. According to Scott Williams, marketing manager for the San Antonio Public Library, these back-to-school resources are designed to support students and individuals seeking to learn new skills. Free Wi-Fi hotspots are now available for checkout at 10 SAPL locations, including Bazan, Collins Garden, Cortez, Forest Hills, Las Palmas, Memorial, Mission, Pan American, Schaefer, and Westfall. These hotspots function similarly to books, allowing families to check them out for up to three weeks and renew them if no one else is waiting. This initiative is part of a pilot program targeting areas in San Antonio identified with equity and broadband internet needs.
