Clean Energy Super PAC Targets Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee Over Renewable Energy Rollbacks
A clean energy super PAC, Invest in America’s Future PAC, has launched a $500,000 attack ad campaign against Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee. This action comes just eight days before the state's primary election. The PAC, funded by solar developers and Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, is targeting Governor McKee for his proposed rollbacks to existing state renewable energy and energy efficiency programs. These proposals were part of his fiscal 2027 budget, though they were largely dismantled by lawmakers. This marks the first time the Invest in America’s Future PAC, which has previously focused on incumbent Republican members of Congress, has targeted a Democratic candidate and a state-level officeholder.
