Daniel Josephs, Former Supermarket Executive, Passes Away at 94
Daniel Edward Josephs, a respected figure in the supermarket industry, passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 94. Born in Chicago in 1931, Josephs had a distinguished career, starting at Jewel Food Stores and eventually becoming the President and COO of Dominick’s Finer Foods. Under his leadership, Dominick’s transformed into a dynamic organization, significantly increasing its market share in the Chicagoland area. Josephs was known for his business acumen and mentorship within the industry. He was also a devoted family man, married to his wife Judith for 70 years, and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Josephs is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
