Ukraine Confirms Drone Strikes on Russian Oil Infrastructure Amid Rising Global Fuel Prices
Ukrainian drones have reportedly struck a Lukoil oil refinery in Kstovo, Russia, and an oil terminal in Leningrad Oblast. The attack, confirmed by Robert 'Madyar' Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, occurred overnight on April 5. This development comes as Ukrainian officials acknowledge that foreign allies have requested Kyiv to pause such attacks due to the global fuel price surge driven by the U.S.-Israeli conflict in Iran. Russian officials reported damage to refining facilities and an oil pipeline, with debris from 30 repelled drones causing the destruction. The Lukoil refinery, located 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, has been a frequent target due to its role in fueling Russia's military efforts.
