Kay Ivey Office Building Signage Installed, Honoring Alabama's Longest-Serving Governor
The Alabama Attorney General's Office building has been officially renamed the Kay Ivey Office Building, with new signage installed to mark the change. This decision follows the Alabama Legislature's House Joint Resolution 253, which recommended the designation, and was signed by Governor Kay Ivey. The Alabama Building Renovation Finance Authority approved the naming on April 9, just before the ninth anniversary of Ivey's tenure as Alabama's 54th governor. Ivey is recognized as the longest continuously serving governor in Alabama's history and the longest-serving female governor in American history. Her administration is noted for significant achievements, including the Rebuild Alabama infrastructure program, broadband expansion, and new prison construction.
