Congressman Raises Concerns Over Missing and Deceased Scientists Linked to Defense Research
Representative Eric Burlison, a Missouri Republican and member of the House Oversight Committee, has highlighted concerns regarding the deaths and disappearances of scientists involved in defense-related research. Burlison has specifically pointed to the cases of Matthew Sullivan, a former U.S. Air Force intelligence officer, and Dr. Ning Li, a physicist known for her work in gravitational physics. Sullivan's death in 2024 was initially reported as a suicide, but Burlison has called for further investigation due to his potential role as a whistleblower in congressional inquiries into unidentified anomalous phenomena. Dr. Ning Li, who passed away in 2021, had previously received significant funding for advanced research but largely disappeared from public view in the early 2000s. The House Oversight Committee has requested briefings from relevant agencies, including the FBI, to further investigate these cases.
