Las Vegas Man Arrested for Fatal DUI Crash Near Strip
Daylon Bernstine, 60, has been arrested in connection with a fatal multi-vehicle crash near the Las Vegas Strip. Police reports indicate Bernstine was driving under the influence of alcohol, exceeding the legal limit, and his vehicle smelled of marijuana when he struck two other cars. The incident occurred on a Wednesday shortly before 6:10 p.m. near East Desert Inn and Paradise roads. Bernstine initially rear-ended a 2017 Honda sedan at a low speed, then accelerated through the intersection, colliding with a 2022 Honda sedan driven by Roy Izquierdo, 28. Izquierdo's vehicle was pushed into a concrete retaining wall, and he later died from blunt force injuries at Sunrise Hospital. Bernstine faces two felony charges: DUI resulting in death and reckless driving. He reportedly refused to answer questions, participate in field sobriety tests, or provide an evidentiary blood sample at the hospital.
