Caribbean Development Bank Funds Study for Regional Stock Exchange Integration
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) has approved a US$100,000 grant to support a feasibility study for a Regional Stock Exchange within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). This initiative, in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the CARICOM Private Sector Organization Inc. (CPSO), aims to assess the potential for a more integrated capital market across CARICOM Member States. The study will explore legal and regulatory requirements, evaluate international stock exchange models, and engage stakeholders from both public and private sectors. The goal is to improve access to financing, particularly for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and to enhance economic resilience and competitiveness in the region.
