Arkansas Mayor's Brother Wins $1.82 Billion Powerball Jackpot, Unveiling Family Ties
Tracy Hartwick, the younger brother of North Little Rock Mayor Terry Hartwick, has been identified as the winner of the $1.82 billion Powerball jackpot drawn on December 24, 2025. Tracy purchased the winning ticket at a Murphy USA store in Cabot, Arkansas, opting for a $30 quick play ticket with the Power Play option. He claimed the prize anonymously on January 5, choosing a one-time cash option of $834.9 million. After taxes, he received $565 million. His identity was revealed due to Arkansas Act 889 of 2021, which limits the confidentiality of lottery winners related to public officials to six months. The remaining prize was shared with his brother Timothy and another non-relative. Mayor Terry Hartwick, who has faced past allegations of misconduct, did not comment on his brother's win.
