Code for America and Anthropic Partner to Enhance SNAP Administration with AI
Code for America (CfA) has partnered with Anthropic to launch a pilot program aimed at improving the administration of public benefits using artificial intelligence. The initiative focuses on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which has faced challenges due to changes in federal funding and fraud concerns. The partnership will introduce the SNAP Policy Navigator, a tool powered by Claude-based AI, to assist government caseworkers in managing benefits more efficiently. This tool will provide real-time information from federal, state, and county policies, helping caseworkers navigate complex administrative processes. The pilot aims to modernize service delivery and ensure eligible families maintain access to essential food benefits.
