Victoria Launches Mental Health Workforce Program to Support Regional Areas
The Victorian Minister for Mental Health, Ingrid Stitt, has announced the launch of the Pathways to Practice Incentive Grant Program. This initiative aims to bolster the mental health workforce in regional Victoria by providing financial support to students undertaking unpaid clinical placements. The program offers 520 grants of up to $575 per week to help students cover travel and relocation expenses. It targets students in social work, occupational therapy, psychology, and nursing. Additionally, participating mental health services may receive up to $30,000 to enhance student placement experiences. Applications for the program are open until December 31, 2026, unless funds are exhausted earlier.
