Pan-Mass Challenge Launches from New Worcester Start Line to Support Cancer Research
Thousands of cyclists are gearing up for the Pan-Mass Challenge, a two-day, 177-mile bike-a-thon, which for the first time will start from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. This event aims to raise funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The new starting point replaces the traditional Sturbridge location, offering a fresh experience for participants. Riders, including those from around the world, are making final preparations at the Luth Athletic Complex, which has been transformed into a hub for registration and merchandise pickup. The event, now in its 47th year, features participants with personal connections to cancer, such as Michelle Aiken of Team Hope and Steven Branfman of Team Kermit, who ride in memory of loved ones. The opening ceremonies included a surprise video message and performance by Bruce Springsteen, whose wife was treated at Dana-Farber.
