Egypt's Investment Minister and IFAD Head Discuss Strategic Agricultural Partnerships
In a meeting held in Washington, Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid Saleh, and the President of the International Fund of Agricultural Development (IFAD) discussed strategies to enhance food security and agricultural exports. The discussions focused on transforming Egypt's agriculture into a competitive export sector by training farmers to meet international standards, improving production and packaging, and attracting investment in value chains. The meeting also addressed ongoing projects like the CROWN initiative and efforts to reduce reliance on imports. IFAD expressed readiness to support Egypt's priorities, including agricultural development and financial inclusion.
