Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Miami Set for Demolition After 25 Years
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, a 23-story tower on Miami's Brickell Key, is scheduled for demolition on Sunday, marking the end of its 25-year history. The implosion, organized by BG Group Demolition, will take place at 8:30 a.m. local time and is expected to last 20 seconds. The demolition is described as the largest in Miami in over a decade. The hotel, which opened in 2000, was once a luxurious destination but closed in May 2025. The site will be replaced by The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, featuring private residences and a new hotel with 121 guest rooms and suites. A strict exclusion zone will be enforced during the demolition, and residents within the area are advised to stay indoors.
