Lebanese Authorities Seize Shoe Shipment with Star of David, Triggering Panic
Lebanese authorities have conducted raids and arrests following the discovery of a shoe shipment marked with a Star of David, which has caused widespread concern in the country. The incident was reported by Al Jadeed TV, which detailed that customs officers in Sidon seized a vehicle carrying a large quantity of foreign shoes suspected of being smuggled into Lebanon. Five individuals were arrested in various locations, including Sidon, Wadi al-Zina, al-Shehabiya, Nabatieh, and Tyre. The seized items, which bore the Star of David, prompted expanded inspections across southern Lebanon. The detainees are currently being questioned under the supervision of Lebanon’s military and economic prosecution. The Economy Ministry and the office overseeing the boycott of Israel are reviewing the case to consider further actions. The brand identified on the shoes is Globalwin, a company that operates in Europe and the United States.
