Governor Abbott Highlights Workforce Development Initiatives in Levelland
Governor Greg Abbott recently visited South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, where he toured the automotive technology and welding facilities. During his visit, he discussed the role of these programs in the future of the Texas Jobs Council. Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of technical education in preparing students for high-paying jobs immediately after high school or a two-year program. He highlighted the need for Texans to be first in line for new jobs coming to the state, with technical programs ensuring that new workers are adequately prepared. The Governor also addressed the modernization of the workforce, including the integration of artificial intelligence, and the importance of respecting rural Texas's heritage while expanding industry across the state.
