Medusa Submarine Cable System Extends Reach to Jordan via NaiTel's Coral Bridge
The Medusa Submarine Cable System is expanding its network to Jordan through an agreement with NaiTel, the telecom arm of Aqaba Digital Hub (ADH). This collaboration will integrate Medusa’s infrastructure with NaiTel’s Coral Bridge cable, which became operational last year and provides a direct link between Taba, Egypt, and Aqaba, Jordan. Under the agreement, Medusa will establish colocation capacity at ADH, allowing operators and customers connected at ADH to access Medusa’s subsea network and reach Europe directly. This initiative also creates an open-access gateway for international connectivity into Jordan and the wider Middle East. The 8,760km Medusa system features landing points across the Mediterranean, including Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia, with a design capacity of 480 Tbps on 24 fiber pairs. The France-to-Tunisia route of the Medusa system, known as “ViaTunisia,” went live earlier this year.
